Good Book.
Not all Astrom books are clear and direct, but this one is pretty straightforward.
I really like this book, and "Adaptive Control" by the same author.
To whom would like to understand digital control,with good exemples,including digital control in state space,and some application using identification for dynamics systems.

In mathematics they have a saying: read the masters. Control science is part pure math, part physics, and part engineering, but after half a decade of specialization in this field, including a master's degree and multiple industry roles, I must agree with this aphorism. Astrom is certainly a master and his depth of knowledge is apparent in this text. While other digital control books work exclusively in the discrete domain, Astrom tackles traditionally ignored problems like the integration of ADCs into the control loop, and the reality that any sampled-data system has both discrete and continuous states operating simultaneously. This isn't to say the discrete domain is ignored. On the contrary, every "well-known" digital fact (the Nyquist frequency is half the sample rate, continuous stability regions are conformally mapped into the unit circle, binlinear transformations preserve asymptotic stability, etc.) is rigorously derived and presented. Although the style is not quite that of a pure math book, the level of rigor is comparable.Read the masters. Learn digital control the right way!
